1. Marital status
A non-accompanying or citizen/PR partner uses the single-person core points grid. Partner-sibling points have a separate accompaniment condition.
2. Age and education
Use your current age before an invitation, or your age on the invitation date when checking an invited profile.
Foreign credentials need an ECA. Canadian credentials don't.
For these extra points: study at a school in Canada; no more than half the program in English/French as a second language; no scholarship requiring you to return home. Usually at least 8 months full-time and physically in Canada. Programs completed wholly or partly March 2020–August 2022 have exceptions to those two 8-month rules. Check the Canadian education conditions before selecting a credential.
3. First official language
4. Second official language (optional)
5. Work experience
Full-time (30 hrs/week = 1,560 hrs/yr) or equal part-time, with authorization. Work during full-time study and self-employment do not count.
Count paid skilled work in the last 10 years. Check which periods qualify before combining experience.
6. Additional points

French points are added automatically from your test scores. Job-offer points no longer exist for anyone.

This calculator applies the published CRS grid to what you enter. It cannot verify that your job duties match a TEER 0–3 NOC, that your ECA is valid, or that your test is still within two years. Not legal advice; for your own case, use a licensed representative (register.college-ic.ca).
