Know where the answer comes from.

Every number on this site comes from a page listed below, with the date we last checked it. When a rule changes, the change log says what changed and which page or tool it affects. When we get something wrong, it goes in Corrections — publicly, with the date.

Change log

  • 2026-09-06All eight tool interfaces revised with clearer field guidance, required-input feedback, keyboard labels, live result summaries and mobile layouts. Calculations and edge cases rechecked against the official sources.
  • 2026-09-06Study2Success.ca published: the five-step path plus the eight calculators. Every rule re-verified against the pages above on this date.
  • 2026-09-01Study-permit living-expense amounts updated (single applicant: $23,448). Funds calculator and Step 1 updated.
  • 2026-06-24IRCC updated the PGWP eligibility page. Language requirement unchanged: CLB/NCLC 7 for university programs, including non-degree programs; CLB/NCLC 5 for college and other non-university programs.
  • 2026-02-18Occupation-based Express Entry categories use 12 months in a single eligible occupation, with category-specific location conditions. French and military categories have separate requirements. The CEC tracker estimates occupation months separately.
  • 2025-07-07Express Entry settlement-funds table updated. CEC applicants remain exempt.
  • 2025-03-25Job-offer (arranged employment) points removed from the CRS for all candidates. The CRS calculator has no job-offer line.

Corrections

When we are wrong, the correction is published here with the date, what was wrong, and what changed. We do not quietly edit a page and move on.

  • 2026-09-06Date and work-hour calculations corrected. Date arithmetic now agrees across timezones. Study-permit timelines use the earlier of printed expiry and 90 days after completion. CEC forecasts account for hours leaving the three-year window, and occupation-category months are separated by NOC. Invalid hours, costs, dates and language scores produce input feedback.
  • 2026-09-06Eligibility guidance corrected. CRS requires two different official languages and distinguishes an accompanying spouse's sibling. PGWP checks collect missing program, language, study-location and status facts; incomplete or unsupported cases request further review. University non-degree language requirements, passport-limited PGWP extensions, medical-exam context, funds exemption letters and between-program work guidance were corrected. The outdated SDS and agriculture-category wording was removed.
  • 2026-09-06Local data handling corrected. Resume and employer text are displayed safely. Editing a resume clears its previous score, parser loads can retry, and document parsers are bundled locally with a maintained PDF.js version. Tracker save failures are visible and entered data can be exported.
  • 2026-09-06TEF Canada scores were read from the wrong column. Our converter used the Score /699 column of the TEF result sheet. IRCC uses the Équivalence ancien score column, where reading is out of 300, listening 360, and writing and speaking 450. French test-takers were shown levels that were too low, which also affected the CRS calculator, the French bonus and the PGWP language check. Corrected, and the entry instruction on the converter now names the right column.
  • 2026-09-06The PGWP checker used one wrong date for public-private partnership programmes. It said September 1, 2024. IRCC publishes two dates: programmes within the same province are ineligible if you began after May 15, 2024, and interprovincial ones use a February 1, 2023 cutoff. Because the published before/after wording does not clearly settle a start on that exact day, the checker asks for review for that boundary. Students who began between May 15 and September 1, 2024 were incorrectly told they might be grandfathered. Corrected, and the checker now uses the student’s program start date and the applicable arrangement.

How we check

  • Every figure is read off the canada.ca page that publishes it, not from a summary, a news article or another consultancy's blog.
  • Each page carries the date the rules on it were last verified. If that date is old, treat the page as stale and check the source yourself.
  • Where IRCC gives two different dates for related rules — as with public-private college programmes — we publish both rather than simplifying to one.
  • Calculators run entirely in your browser. Entries are not sent to a server, and there is no account. The CEC and expiry trackers save entries in this browser when storage is available; you can clear or export them. Resume text is not saved, and its file parsers load from this site.
